Zoning & Subdivision Code Update

NOTICE OF PUBLIC REVIEW & PUBLIC HEARING

The Town of Massena, under the direction of the Town Planning Board, has contracted with Cedar Eden Environmental of Saranac Lake NY to prepare an update to the Town's Zoning and Subdivision Codes. The purpose of this project is to update Town Zoning and Subdivision Codes, incorporate land use recommendations from the Town's Comprehensive Plan into the Town Code, and develop a new Town Zoning Map. Cedar Eden Environmental, together with Shepstone Management Company and the County Planning Office, will accomplish this using public & advisory council participation, an analytical geographic information system, a review of existing codes and issues regarding current code, and an evaluation of potential new code language.

Our goal is to provide an updated code that is consitent with current practices and the comprehensive plan, is easy to use and administer, and provides for smart growth while protecting the environment.

This website provides information to the public regarding the process, provides public access to existing and proposed codes, and provides a mechanism for public comment. The menu at left provides access to the content of this website.
