About the CEE Cam
CEE Cam v2.0
The
upgraded CEE Cam consists of an Axis 2120 network camera attached directly
to the network hub. The camera is a high performance digital, 24-bit color
camera with a 1/3" Sony super HAD interlaced CCD, with a built in
Linux server running on an 100 MIPS CPU (ETRAX 100 processor, 32 bit RISC)
equipped with 16 MB of RAM and 4 MB of flash prom. The camera can communicate
directly with the web, capturing the images locally and delivering them
via FTP to the Cedar Eden Environmental website using built-in software.
The camera has an automatic true iris (DC Iris), and is also capable of
delivering live video at up to 30 frames per second.

CEE Cam v1.0
The
original CEE Cam was a Logitech QuickCam Web attached to a Compaq Presario
2240 running Windows 98SE on a 200 MHz AMD K6 processor with 32 MB of
RAM (yes, indeed, this puppy was slow, but could run the cam for weeks
without any intervention). The image was captured locally and delivered
via FTP to the Cedar Eden Environmental website using webcam software
entitled VisionGS by Sascha Keller.
